Gotta say, reading the way that thin people write from the perspective of being in a fat, while I’m actively getting hate comments about my weight, is really killing my enjoyment of this book. sobbing in embarrassment upon seeing yourself in a fat body.,, cool… not everything is about me but I am taking an L today

Tbh, this is the main thing I remember about this book, 5 or so years after reading it. The fatphobia is so unnecessary and out of proportion and horrific. You are incredible in every way and people who leave hate comments are miserable humans. The way this author writes about larger bodies is appalling and not normal.
