oh man its hard to put it in a few words. its a noir bl about gangs, korean americans, love triangles, sex, ink, drugs, longing, bisexual moody lighting and big dicks.
hope that answers ur question. :D
Some parts are good, but overall I could not stand Ian. He was so indecisive and just so insufferable. 😂I was unsatisfied with how the author just used Jo as a plot device with zero character and development. The chemistry between him and Ian was poor. But I would have at least like something else for him at the end. I never thought he was endgame for many reasons, but I don't like how the author used him the way they did.
This story was a 2.8/5 for me. TJ... As much as I didn't like him, was the best character in the story. His development was the best.
i agree that TJ is the most compelling character in the story. i didnt really care much for Jo, he did feel out of place with a man like Ian. the ending, from the snippets ive seen, did make sense to me. but im gonna reread it without interruptions this time and see how it goes.
oh and as for Ian, I personally enjoy an homme fatal, although he may seem as a frustrating character because he is so very lost with what he wants and what he needs most of the time. but it seems he did find some peace for himself eventually. good for him.
I mean it does make sense. I totally get and knew the endgame couple. They were legit made for each other, but the whole story telling was so dumb to me. Legit using some useless person like Jo to facilitate Ian to realize that "normal" life is not for him. At least if they gave Jo more of a personality and be less bland, it would have been nice because it would have made the plot more interesting, I think. Having him be more... Idk! Something else making it less obvious in what Ian will do.The whole mafia thing was just so meh (I read the story twice already and still don't fully care for that part of the plot), so much unnecessary dialogue. Too much back and forth. And then to have such a rushed ending was like... GUAT? Seriously?
Don't get me wrong, sometimes there were scenes that were really well thought out. Like Ian sitting at the table and he's thinking about TJ, feeling so out of place and wanting to do all the "normal" things with him instead.
TJ finally realizing he doesn't need all that mafia stuff to be successful, was nice and how it clicked. But too much rushed things at the end that were never explained. The bag that Ian kept carrying around.
Also, the whole massacre that was just never explained and elaborated on. It made it seem unnecessary... Or at least ONLY necessary for it to dawn on TJ.
I did tear up at the end in the second to last chapter, that was sweet. Anyway. Sorry for my yapping! 🤣 I could go on and on and on.
This was a story my friend read like 4x because she loved it so much and she always was talking about it. It made me sick of this story and the more I read it the more I hated it! 😂
props to u for actually paying attention to the story. im mostly stuck on admiring the mood lighting...and how terrible their tattoos look. :D
