This story is interesting, but every character is fundamentally unlikeable. Serk is a horrible man with a superiority complex- he doesn't notice his wife becomming paralyzed. Louisa stays a cruel, petulant brat in her 30s, and makes such idiotic choices. Anne's just passive, she's a punching bag for Serk and Louisa. The author wants you to feel bad for her but I don't understand why Anne lives her life so passively.
