This series, along with From Blood & Ash, is like when you watch a really good movie so you decide to watch the sequel only to be left utterly disappointed and frustrated at how awful it turned out to be. I had to take a break from this one and I’m struggling to continue which sucks because I truly loved the start of it all

I feel like this is the general consensus of this author and it keeps me from wanting to try her books

@cassidy the first book I read that she wrote was From Blood & Ash and I quickly realized her writing isn’t for me but I truly love the stories she puts together. I just feel there is an excessive amount of repetition and whining and a lot of nothing happening for most of the book. What saves the book for me is the twists she throws in. They were enough to hook me and keep me invested this long but it’s been getting difficult to keep reading
