Honestly, yes. The first 50 pages really slogged, then it got better. I found the book very overhyped though, ended up rating it 3/5.

I made it another 20-ish pages before realizing that I was forcing myself off of the IDEA that it'll be a good book rather than because I found it at all enjoyable.
Based off your response about it feeling overhyped/3 star final rating- it doesn't feel like I'm missing out. 🤷♀️
I thought it had lovely prose but fell kinda flat in plot.
