That’s the reality for so many kids. People expect them to just behave, to follow the rules, to do well in school, but they don’t stop to ask what’s going on in their lives. They don’t realize that the kid who won’t sit still in class might not have had anything to eat that morning. Or that the kid who refuses to do his homework might not have anyone at home who can help him with it.
