Damn. Well, a lot of plot threads just resolved very abruptly, and there are over 300 pages left...
I also appreciate how this book got to Blood Meridian-level content, but McMurtry writes and describes it in such a way that shields the reader quite well.

Finally tackling this western epic -- this book might take me all year to get through, but if it does so be it (Starting it in jan even if it's the end of jan, lol). Definitely scratching that cowboy itch so far, excited to get to know these characters more. Also is every western I read cursed to contain headhopping ugh
