The prose is both rather descriptive and achingly dull. Like, we don't know the age of the missing child until page 90 or so, and part of the details make him sound like an infant (a gummy smile) and some a preschooler (he can amusingly mispronounce "tyrannosaurus"). 18 months. Author is likely not a mother.
