Israel led a horrifying attack in South Lebanon (in the 80s I think) and committed such atrocious and I describí ate bombing that the US told them they had to stop. And they kinda did. And also there were no consequences for the military decision makers involved, two of them went on to be PM of Israel, one of whom was Bibi himself. Moral of this Chapter: Israel has BEEN warned crime-ing with US backing for decades.

Secretly negotiated agreement between PLO and Israel led to PLO recognizing Israeli State and Israel acknowledging the existence of the Palestinian people. This is seen as a mistake on the PLO’s part because these terms are not balanced and recognizing your colonizer’s legitimacy is not very beneficial.
