I don't think I've been this physically angry at characters in a book since I read Tess of the D'Urbervilles in college. It's all the same things making me angry again too

This book reads like the author grew up in purity culture and then became an adult and said "What the heck, we are treating women so awfully and blaming the victims" and yes I can confirm people say all those awful things about female victims of abuse

I take it back, hearing from that character's perspective does not make me like him more because HE IS A MANIPULATIVE SELFISH NARCISSIST AND IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW PEOPLE HAVE TREATED YOU ARE A PIECE OF GARBAGE WHO IS ONLY LOOKING FOR WHAT YOU CAN GET OUT OF PEOPLE AND THE ONLY PERSON I HATE MORE THAN YOU IS *THAT ONE CHARACTER* WHO IS OVERLOOKING YOUR BEHAVIOR
