Writing style in this book supersedes its predecessor Red Dragon. Mystery is fast paced, Hannibal serves a much more important purpose, and though the suspense was lacking, the grim nature of this was much more satisfying. In Laymans terms, Red Dragon: simple, stressful, effed up, Silence of the Lambs: balanced, perpetual, and fun to read.
