« Things don’t have to make sense for them to be real. » you know the author knows nothing about science when her cliché physicist character doesn’t bring up quantum mechanics as an example in this conversation lmao

« Had we been engineered better, we would’ve been able to see all the flickering remnants of the Big Bang that lit up the night. » That’s not how evolution works. Seeing the cosmic microwave background of the universe doesn’t give us any survival advantage so we wouldn’t have been engineered any « better », we would’ve just been engineered « differently » (and it would’ve been useless)

The least realistic thing here is an astrophysicist coming to the conclusion that « science isn’t real. » No scientist would EVER say that, they would instead come up with new theories to explain these phenomenons and expand our knowledge because that’s what science is all about. If we said science is not real as soon as something contradicts current theories then science would just… stop existing.
