She will never understand him, not even if she took a box cutter to his chest and opened him up to see what is so very wrong with her child.” - I need to confess that it’s sickening to read this book out of her POV and how she victimizes herself… maybe I’m too quick to judge but damn - you give him everything BUT the things he actually needs.
