One thing Alice is as confused as we are, then suddenly she figures things out? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Now they finally say what a Ten's for. Wish we got the basics of the positions and the Trials sooner I guess? Could've also done with a Black Hearts rules refresher.

I'm once again confused by the character dynamics, this time between Alice and Madi. Thought they were fine during the Trial but it seems all of a sudden Alice's distant? Madi wasn't one of her suspects. Sure, she could've been suspicious about the non-disclosure of Stark's disappearance but that seemed to come way too late? Idk I'm just not feeling it.

And now she says she did puzzles? If this was mentioned before I didn't notice, so this feels out of the left field. First person narrator, it happens, but also to the reader just ??? (or well this reader)

I'm not surprised there's a romance but I didn't feel it budding, so it's just kind of awkward? Or maybe this is just Alice's way idk.

Oof, a Wizarding Boy books reference. Actually made me cringe 🙈

Never been to the Cotswolds but I always had the impression it was kind of posh, and then in this book it seems to be the opposite haha!
