MEET-CUTE #1: THE UNLUCKIEST GIRL is a good story. I figured out the twist. The story has very fun banter. The story does have the name of the the collection I know a place. The title is appropriate. Good character work. 3.2 stars.

A FRUITING BODY is a poem meant to be read out loud. It is about a famous fungus that is being studied, with some people killing themselves after studying. I did not like this at all, but that is okay. Nat did warn that this won't be for everyone, but it was all Cassidy with some awkward humor. 1

MEET-CUTE #2: THE SCARIEST THING is a first date with a confession. It is about the scariest moment of letting your guard down. I thought it was okay. The dude is weird. I liked some of the banter, Cassidy is good at dialogue. 2.5

INTO THE LIFE OF THINGS is a story of a woman found dead at a mental institution. She does in a weird way, on her back looking at the stars. The book flashes back to a yoga retreat in the desert. Not every works in this story, the ending I liked but I don't know if it makes sense. 4

COME is about a cursed sex tape at a high school. Cassidy nails the teen speak. The story was good as it blends The Ring with It Follows. I enjoyed the ending. I like that the story at it's core is the pressure and the insecurity put on teens about sex. 5

JUBILEE JUNCTURE is about a puppeteer that has a new act for his Christian childrens show. He's putting a private show for his friend the station manager. This story gets creepy fast. The descriptions were making me squirm a bit. The imagery was great. 4.2

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE is an interesting time travel story. It features a cover band artist who goes back in time, stealing songs to play as his own. I liked parts. The story was a tad to long. The ending was just okay. This story is for the music fans. 3.6

LAUGHLINES is a horror told through text and emails. I enjoyed this one it is a slow build, but a good creepy finish. I'm usually not a fan of this medium but the talk to text really worked. 4

THE LUNAR ECLIPSE is a slow burn short story that is all about the set up. I did love the ending, it was just a joke. For some reason this story took a while to grab me, and this is the shortest story so far. 3.1

THE ART OF WHAT YOU WANT reminded me of the plot of Vertigo, which is a business deal involving a dead wife, which is the plot of this story. I liked the haunting aspect of the plot, and the turn that the story takes. I feel though we have to get told what happens instead of see it. I want to see more of the story then get told after fact. 3.2

NICE is a humorous horror about an elf that ask a Santa loving boy to stop being nice, so he doesn't have to make so many presents. This story was dark but in a funny way. It reminded me of a Brian McAuley short story. This story worked very well, I loved the character reveals. 4.5
