The fact that the back rooms of the bar & the fucking underground cages aren't being explained but I get jokes about dry humping really does sum up the essence of this book.

I know, I know we're probably gonna get a Lance romance book next all about his underground cage trauma, but this book could have been SO interesting if it was 3rd person omniscient and it was about the damn cages.

Consider: the introductory chapters shouldn't be there. Take place 5 yrs in the past & exist only to contextualize Juliette as a child & bare bits of the family. Too brief to be insightful, & y'all keep saying "Juliette, u used to be so hopeful as a child; now u're so emo & jaded" but there is. Absolutely No Marked Difference In Her Characterization. Save the chapters for a dramatic flashback. Also write accordingly?
