jeez these sisters are suffering through basically every horror of the nazi regime

this is absolutely devastating oh god 😭 even worse that it’s historical fiction

this is actually getting very interesting like how she helped downed RAF pilots escape occupied france by climbing a mountain?? and her sisters possible slow burn with the german soldier living in their house

i thought this book would be more interesting and was excited to read it but part of the reason it’s lacking is because the pacing is quite slow. it’s not bad and probably indicative of the slowness of real life under nazi occupation ig not everything can happen that fast

this is starting so slow holy hell bruh and the book weighs a ton bc it’s hardcover + 700+ pages bc it’s large print omg 😭😭
