I hate this too. I want my kindle account linked for the highlights and quotes but if you scroll to the end of a book in your kindle library it will count it as read and put it in your challenge. At least I find it easy to remove the duplicates in my reading challenge by just clicking on the one that says kindle library and remove from challenge. It keeps the one on my Goodreads shelf and makes my reading challenge accurate
