i bet opal's mother died bc one of the beasts got free and she swerved to avoid it

i'm loving this

i am so intrigued by the mystery! i love that unreliable narrators and how we look at a historic event differently has been introduced. i'm enjoying black cat x golden retriever vibes between arthur and opal. THE HOUSE HID THE BOOK.

i need to stop reading so late because i just got to an interesting part about the starlings — his mother's death — and i need to go to bed.
