This book was riding around in my backpack or handbag for long spates last year, and something gross happened to the upper right corner of the book at some point: the upper page corners are all stained and yuck. If I enjoy reading these stories (many, possibly most, for the second time, though I can't necessarily be sure all these years later), I may indulge and buy a second copy.

(That said, I need to read more Le Guin. It's been a while and even what I read barely scratches her oeuvre.)

I'm not sure when I encountered the Jokka, but it was free range online, probably under 20 years ago. I loved the world building and the writing (enjoyed the illustrations as well, in more of an optional extra sort of way.) Good readalike material for Eleanor Arnason's tales of the Harhath, and both Arnason and Hogarth make good readalike authors for Ursula K. Le Guin.
