Not high literature, and filled with Captain Obvious statements and redundant phrases like "poor boy sandwich". However, living a long way from my south Louisiana roots, I loved the descriptions of the places,people and food from my youth. Burke is strongest in his descriptions if a little heavy-handed with the local color.
