What I've read so far could have been written in half the pages. The writing is overly verbose. In the first chapter I thought it was done on purpose, to create tension, and even then it was overdone. But it seems unnecessarily long and passages are the author's style.

I also find characters like Agnes tiring. Protagonists don't need to be somehow better, kinder, more sensitive, more special than everyone else.
