A Hugo nominee and, other than Everlasting (excellent book) Raven Scholar is the only other one on the list that seemed possibly good. I guess we will see. Actually, I'm enjoying it, although I've come across a few chapters that aren't really necessary in the big picture.

Surprise! I'm actually enjoying this. The main character isn't too immature, foreshadowing is expertly created so that it is hard to determine what is being foretold, so many well crafted characters, and yes, I can see how it is nominated for a Hugo. Yet, is it better than Everlasting? Hmmm
