This book is a lot better than I expected, even with the strange "hand-off" style between DeWalt's contextual third-person blocks of text alternating with Boukreev's translated first-person reminiscences. It's not as jarring as it could be.

Very good read. Hard to put down, actually.

Once again I'm finding it impossible to put down a good mountaineering story. Hope I get to bed tonight. I've stayed up all night reading these things.

Mountaineering adventures are my favorite fun reads, so let's do this one to offset some of the other heavier stuff I'm doing. Yeah, this was a mountaineering tragedy, but anyway...
