this is my third meg shaffer book and there’s just something abt them i can’t describe
they’re like the same amount of socially/romantically unrealistic as a perfect fluffy hallmark-y romance novel
and the whimsy and fantasy aspects feel like a children’s chapter book (which i know is on purpose but it feels almost tooooo juvenile at times.. the audience is not children but im being talked to like one)

oh my GOD the foreshadowing/hints are so obvious
- the housekeeper used to work for john and sherlock
- the new girl at work is behind allllll of this
- rainy’s father was a book character im sure.. gatsby maybe?
- or rainy is a book character and she can go back into book land if she wants to be with duke
- rainy is the March HEIR
- she’s gonna inherit something bc she’s a descendant of a character (gatsby?)
