Chapter 11 sirens has been my favorite so far - because it’s associated with music it has these interwoven elements of songs with Bloom’s thoughts and memories and I think that’s really beautiful and sad. This chapter felt like a movie where two scenes are going on at once. Also some of the repetition and remixing of words feels like rehearsing which speaks to me as a former band kid lol.

Starting with chapter 3 aka “Proteus” I started using bloomsandbarnacles.com to look up explanations for a lot of Stephen’s thoughts. The author of that site did a great job breaking things down quite literally paragraph by paragraph which is the only way I got through this part

Having to read the chapter summaries because the stream of consciousness writing doesn’t make sense is reminding me of reading Quentin’s chapter in Sound and the Fury and I feel like in associating the two together now. Stephen and Quentin would be great friends
