Part of me feels like this would have been a better - definitely different, but possibly better - book if it had been reversed, started with half of Sloosha’s Crossing and gone back in time, and then had Adam Ewing in the middle and gone forward again. I’d be curious to read that version.

Frobisher seems more tolerable in this second part. More sincere.

Two more to go, but the good bits are over. Boooo. Luisa Rey and Sonmi were so great.

I can absolutely believe that Timothy Cavendish is a reincarnation of Robert Frobisher. They’re insufferable in similar ways.

I am not sure that I liked the ending of the Sonmi section, but we’ll see where the rest of this goes.

The structure of this book leaves me wondering: does anything we do matter?

Made it to the halfway point, just about! It’s very uneven. I loved Sonmi and Luisa Rey, and strongly disliked the other parts.

Sonmi-451 is fantastic. It’s funny how different in quality I’m finding the different parts of this. Sonmi and Luisa Rey were incredible; the other parts barely readable for me. I guess it’s all about the characters.
