I'm just going along really enjoying this, and then suddenly BAM bad science all over the place that is clearly an underpinning for a character's entire arc. How am I supposed to believe a celebrated ecologist thinking about how humans are connected with nature hasn't read any of the literature that exists on the topic (and on her specific questions)? Descartes is a ruiner and I'll never forgive him.
