A couple *quirks* of the writing style really annoying to me exhibit A: Orso having five sentences back to back in a chunk of dialogue that all end in exclamation marks. Man is yelling all! The! Time! Like did no one ever tell you to go back and edit your emails to take out the excessive emojis and exclamation points so you don’t sound absolutely deranged with enthusiasm??

Elaborating on my previous point re: Brandon Sanderson, this magic system is PARTICULARLY stormlight archive coded like there’s so much of this magic technology which is just fabrials. And convincing inanimate objects that they are made of a different material. And manipulating gravity but you have to do it CAREFULLY so you don’t hurl yourself into the stratosphere

Interesting world, magic, plot etc but we have spent far too much of this book so far repeating fighting/escaping scenes with our protagonists evading the Bad Guys and causing scenes of mass destruction and devastation it’s starting to get quite repetitive

Very Brandon Sanderson esque magic system

This Sark guy is definitely gonna betray Sancia isn’t he. I know how these stories work
