Already I can see how different the tone is from the first book.. but not necessarily in a good way. In the Handmaid's Tale, the tone is melancholic, somewhat defeated at times. The few instances of hope from Offred are something to be treasured. Little victories in her bleak world.
This book... kind of reads like a typical YA novel. Was this written by Atwood? It seems so different from her former writing style
