I’m ready for this to be over now

This was initially pretty captivating, but it’s doing that thing where it’s over explaining all of the cool things that you infer. In a mystery story you need to be kept guessing and the narrative is just too eager to clarify everything. I’m hoping I’m just missing something or I’m being set up.
