It took 364 pages to set up the story and not a word was wasted. The book is arranged in parts (XI of them) and part I fills nearly half of the 834 pages. Starting part II now. Interestingly each section begins with an accurate sidereal astrological chart showing the date and location of the section. When I reread this I’ll take time to work out the horoscopes for each date and time and character.
