How is this so good? It looks like a silly little funny fantasy but the world is unexpectedly complex and so is the story, anything even resembling a plot hole has just turned out to be some insane foreshadowing. Not to toot my own horn but I can really tell when a writer is skilled... and this one really is.

Fade to black sex scenes but somehow we still get a detailed description of Rimbaud’s fishussy, 10/10 book

Nevermind, Rimaud isn’t unhinged. ERIS IS. Holy crap. I hope he will stick around and won’t be just an episodic villain, he is so crazy :D and as inhuman as it gets… curious to see that objects can become sentient experimental subjects too.

Hm I should read the prequel. I don’t care much about the bunny man (idk I just don’t care for bunnies) but Lu Shangjin is interesting

B: “wait lol I’m joking don’t actually do that”

The way this novel balances light moments with serious situations needs to be studied. Usually I dislike major tonal shifts between chapters or even scenes but here it just WORKS. Major angsty flashback, MC completely breaking down, action scene, cute and caring moment, funny flirty dialogue, another action scene… and it just flows so well. (Btw are we ever going to address how Rimbaud just ate a bunch of people?)

Oh wow I thought mature Rimbaud is going to be a handful and here he is, already threatening to fuck two people to get them to back away from his lover. Any expectations I had have been already surpassed, he is unhinged.
