They told me this would be fine as a standalone. This is incorrect. About halfway through, I started questioning myself about why I'm reading this. I really enjoy Karin Slaughter, so I'm torn. I read about 5 pages a day, hoping it will get better. Three more days and this may have to go on the dusty shelf. If it was an audio book I would speed this up to 2x speed.
