Sometimes I have to re-read parts, it's that Irish!

😢 This book deserves to be studied. I wanna hold Jim so hard and tell him he’s good, he’s wonderful and worthy, and there nothing wrong with him.

I can’t seem to put this book down.

This queer historical fiction novel mixes queerness, class, privilege, politics, and the looming arrival of war in an intimate way. Some characters can clearly see the future changing around them, while others sheltered by innocence or privilege, can’t see beyond their own world yet.

And somehow in the middle of all that there is self-discovery, coming of age, longing, and love.

🫢 ok ok ok ok the threads is this book are starting to connect, oh ingenuous, silly me was not expecting the twists in this novel.

Why not continuing to swoon and suffer through queer literature written by men?!
First chapter was rough, English is not my first language, but I wondered at times whether this was even English… it was Irish-ish

Wish me luck, this book is a thick boy
