2 the fact that every estimate of how many men need to be evacuated is always insanely low is wild. Like every single time they’re like “we need to save these 1000 men-wait 5000-wait 25,000?”

This is why I’m not a military leader: if I knew the odds I’d probably just kill myself before the Nazis got there :/

Imagine if the Nazi generals got their way. This book would have a very different title. The situation already sounds like less than half a snowball’s chance in hell and I’m sure it will get worse
