Jesus fuck this book is dark. His darkest yet… Julian carax, victor mataix, and David Martin.. what went on in this guys mind to come up with these tragedies… and are we not far off from Franco’s Spain? How long until Adelanto turns into monjuic…. I think I’m being dramatic. But damn this is a depressing read

In wild dark shores the author said th setting is basically another character. That’s what this books writing feels like. So moody. So menacing. So sinister post war Barcelona…

I either don’t read this and feel fomo or read this and freak out that once I finish this series there’s no more books by Carlos Ruiz zafon and I stop. Currently getting into the thick of it again. I love this world.

Finally have time to pick this up again. (The 1938 bombing of Barcelona by fascist Italy was setting for one of the scenes!!!! Always crazy when my different interests in fiction and nonfiction converge!)
