Here, let me loan you my barge pole, Liz, so you can proverbially not touch it anymore 😆 I always avoid these types of books too, often it’s a case of ‘you’ve read one, you’ve read them all!’

I think I'm going to need that barge pole. There are so many wonderful books out there that I would really prefer to read, that I may just ditch this one. I borrowed it from the library so no cash wasted, just time.

I sound like such a snob actually, but I’m sure you know what I mean.

I try to stay open-minded as some popular page-turners are wonderful (I'm thinking of the best of Steven King), while some literary fiction can be a snooze-fest (I'm thinking of The Scarlet Letter),
