As it turns out the story is indeed based on a factual account much as The Feather Thief was. However the author changed names and added a dab of fiction to protect the actual people involved. Overall I'd give the narrative 3.5 stars. RTC tomorrow

While the premise is unique in some respects, Bauer does a nice job of pacing in early chapters, then bogs it down with repetitive plot points and remains so..In some ways its reminiscent of The Feather Thief which was based on facts rather than fiction

It's a good story but I'll be honest saying it lacks the plot twists I'd hoped for

Pace seems to have slowed down and the story of the missing red egg along with it. Hopefully this is temporary

Having just read Seascraper which like this is written by an English author and both use dated time periods, their unique dialog differs to the point where it's almost like a foreign language! Enjoying this in spite of it and hopefully will get a knack for the language

Lots of jumping around in early chapters though I'm sure they will find common ground
