Who can save 50% of their income in this economy?? Also, he literally uses an example of someone making $25,000 annually, who can "reduce their needs" so they can live on $12,500 A YEAR. It's not possible dude. Not in the US, anyways. What world are you living in?
This is doubly impossible if you "own" (by which I mean have a mortgage on) a house and have kids.

To be fair, 2016 was a kinder time in the economy than right now, but still.

$500 rent/mortgage = $6000 $200 groceries = $2400
$60 tank of gas (yes, ONE tank) = $720
$150 health insurance = $1800
$75 car insurance = $900
$30 phone bill = $360
$200 utilities (gas, water, sewer, trash) = $2400
$14,520
LITERALLY THIS exceeds his example. And I cannot stress enough that NO one is paying this little for most of these things and these things don't even begin to touch on tithe, gifts, repairs, or essentials like toothpaste, toilet paper, soap, etc.
