I am so tempted to just dump this book right now. The only thing that keeps me reading is the good reputation, but I'm finding these stories to be kind of amateurish and corny. I know they're 60 years old, but so is DUNE, and there's nothing amateurish about that.

This makes me sad. This book has been on my to read list for like 20 years. I may never get to it now.

They're 60 year-old short stories which were innovative in their day and which set up the world for his Robot, Empire & Foundation novels.
