I was annoyed by a message from someone and to curb my curiosity about its contents, I decided to read this instead. What you extrapolate from this will either enlighten or obfuscate. Anyway, this chapter was actually easier to read and the guy sounded less insufferable

I was out taking care of things that require government services and as you know that entails waiting hours to get served or get told you need to bring something you didn't bring
I read a whole quarter of this book before I decided I had had enough and could not stomach anymore... I don't know, something about the prose is just unpleasant for me but it's a short read so I will not DNF it just for that reason

One of the reasons I am multilingual is that I don't want to be dependent on translators doing justice to an original work. I don't speak or read Russian so I'm finding myself reading this translation that feels somewhat insufferable in its wordiness. I was so bored at the beginning I wondered if the whole thing will be spent in this guy's head, one that's worrying because he feels sorry for himself about everything
