I can not fathom why she would choose to stay in a place that was so dangerous for a woman like her, or why she would even want to, now that she knows the truth about John. She should've taken Faith & tired to find Samuel.

I'm not sure if I'm going to keep reading this. I feel like I know where it's going & it's frustrating that Maria can see her future but isn't doing anything to try to change it & I'm annoyed at all of the glaring signs she willfully ignored.

Her crow, Hannah's words & her own intuition are all warning her but she refuses to listen. She's doing the exact opposite of the advice she gives other women, which she's too smart to be doing. He made it pretty clear he didn't want her.

Why would she even write down a dangerous spell if she'd already vowed to never use it?

I can't believe that she would still want to be with a man who abandoned her without a word or that she let herself fall for him so quickly, knowing everything she did about love.
