i love my sister but i always wanted to be an only child

which i think is maybe why i want to have ONE child

idk ive always liked being alone, ive always been super independent. my mum was a single mum and i really enjoyed it just being us. everything was ‘mumma and me’ we did everything together and it was just special.

also everyone talks about how with your first you do all the stuff you think you’re meant to.. read them bedtime stories, follow all the parenting books etc but with the second you ‘wing it’ more

i think id like knowing i can give all my love and attention to my baby 100% because i dont need to share it out between another. because realistically it would be impossible to keep it exactly 50/50 it would be 60/40 48/52 etc etc

plus, if you keep them social, have friends, take them to places they’ll meet other kids, send them to school…then why not? im already going to be judged for being a gay parent might aswell take the judgement for only wanting one child too
