I read through the incendiary quote that has all of kidlit losing their minds on the internet (truly didn’t think this level of simultaneous moral outrage was still possible in a post-Twitter internet, but here we are) and what I think is that everybody needs to calm the fuck down.

My feelings too. Can we please focus our efforts on real threats to KidLit like book banning?

Except that somehow Mac's critics have twisted his words to be ammunition for book banners? It's all so much mental gymnastics, its exhausting. No wonder we're all so tired...the weight of moral outrage is very heavy indeed, on top of everything else we have to shoulder these days.
