We’re sad to hear that Captain Bowers will be moving on; he’s been commanding us for months. His replacement, who is supposed to arrive on the eighteenth, is Captain “Ron” Christmas.
“You gotta be kiddin’ me, Sarge,” Rory comments when he hears the news. “Captain Christmas – in December? That’s too good!”
Later I hear him and Reg singing a version of “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas”, with lyrics about our new commander. The words aren’t disrespectful, but I tell them to stop anyway. I don’t think it’s a good idea to make fun of the new captain before he’s even taken command of the company.
