While I didn't care for The Outsiders movie (didn't like the language they put in), I found the soundtrack makes pretty decent background music for writing. 🤭 I LOVE the Fate theme, gives me chills 😭

Am I the only one who hates Valentine's Day but not because I'm single?

Somebody asked me why I don't want to get married, and I said one of the reasons is that I'm not into guys. To be clear, I'm not into real guys, just fictional ones. And not romance MMCs either - steely-eyed sergeants, tired gunslingers, softhearted greasers, self-sacrificing heroes - you get my type. 😁 Bonus points if he has blue eyes, maybe a soft accent, and a lovely rich voice 🫠

Today makes one year since the rollover crash that could've killed me. Thank God I'm still alive and the trauma hasn't been consistently bad (just flares up now and then). It gave me some experience for writing PTSD . . . experience I didn't want 🥴😭

Life is hard . . . my brother convinced me to add more side characters for the SOLE PURPOSE of killing them off, and now I just know I'm gonna get attached to them 😭 but that also means I get to torture my sergeant MC with doubts and stuff when they die 😈

Guys should I start posting some quotes from my WIP? I feel like I don't have a ton (and no there aren't any romantic ones lol) but it could still be fun 🫠

My WIP is set in the Vietnam War, the MC is a 19-year-old Marine sergeant, and the story is about him and his squad from early 1967 to about March 1968. Also if you want more details I'm happy to answer questions 😊

God is the best Author ever, the One who writes our stories right, and He never gets distracted by plot bunnies 💕

Yk what makes me sad, is when people hate a book just because they had to read it in school. I mean in a sense I get it, I'm a rebel too when I'm forced to do things. But for Pete's sake give the book a chance on its own merit 😭

I'm doing my first buddy read next month! I'm so excited for this! 🤩

Tractor Supply was still playing Christmas music on the radio so my mum and I were dancing down the aisle to Winter Wonderland. I love her sm 🥰

This morning my friend was texting me at SIX, gasping and screaming and cheering about the plot twist at the end and the last 10 pages.

Trust me, you don't want to know my (very eclectic, like everything else) search history. 😆

To my romance-loving girlies:
I'll admit, I'm an incurable shipper who loves a sweet romantic subplot. I just don't care for romance being the whole theme of the book. By all means enjoy your clean romances, I'm happy for you! They just aren't my jam for a lot of different reasons. 🫠

I think the more modern the books get, the more they lose their vintage appeal IMO. But so far this one is starting out more like a classic HB.

Current status: chillin' on the couch with slippers, building my Retro Christmas playlist 😇

Current problem: not wanting to pick up another book bc I'm still obsessing over the last one 🫠

I made a new shelf for books that made me cry - usually because of character death. But I've found that I just don't cry over character deaths much anymore, even when I'm writing them.

Ok, I am legit crying now 😭
