Yrene was held at knife point. Celaena wanted her to use the skills she’d just learned to take him down. She did. Celaena left a lot of money on Yrene’s bed as a parting gift and a gift for her to part from Innish. Yrene took it and left for Antica.

Celaena boarded the ship to the desert and hoped Yrene would become a great healer and heal the world after the destruction from Adarlan.

Celaena told Yrene to go to Antica, where the healing school is. She wanted to teach her some self-defense moves before she left for the boat to Yurpa. In the alley, they trained. Then the alley was surrounded, by men looking for revenge. Celaena told Yrene to go inside.

Yrene dreamed of being a healer herself, but her powers had vanished like the rest of the magic. Yrene cleaned the taproom after last call and in the alley four men ambushed her. Celaena saved her, but got a cut on her arm. Yrene offered to clean it. Celaena accepted.

Celaena is in Innish traveling to the Red Desert to work with an assassin as her punishment for breaking the trade between Aro and the Pirate Lord. She doesn’t know where Sam is. She has been brawling with everyone, Aro and random bar patrons. She is looking for trouble in a crappy inn.

They freed the slaves by creating a great brawl in the bay and disabling pirates’ ships. Sam destroyed Ship-Breaker, the chain attached to the watch tower, by destroying the entire tower. Celaena made Rolfe sign papers ending the slave trading at Skull’s Bay and with Aro.

Sam and Celaena went to the two ships that held the slaves. She tied up the guards and captain, and went to the slaves. She told them to sail at dawn and not to stop while Sam and her made a distraction on land and slowed down the pirates from catching them.

Celaena and Sam went to see the slaves Rolfe is selling Aro. They fight on the beach about ruining the business deal and Sam agrees.

Celaena is trying to ruin Arobynn’s investment. She must hide her identity because she’s the world’s best assassin. Sam is jealous of her position in the Assassin’s Guild and is tired of her ordering him around. Celaena is arrogant and overly confident.

Celaena is an assassin part of the Assassin’s Guild. Sam is a year older than her, a fellow assassin she butts heads with. Arobynn is her master. Her friend Ben was killed and she retrieved his body.

Celaena and Sam traveled to Skull’s Bay to talk to the Pirate Lord, Rolfe, to send a message from Arobynn. She thought it was retribution for dead assassins, but it was a business proposition in the slave trade.
