I honestly might give this two stars it is such a drag for me

To me, both Frankenstein and Nosferatu are better than this…

I don’t particularly care for this cast of characters and I don’t think Stoker does a good job fleshing them out

It is scary both in the fantasy elements but also in the realistic elements of mysterious sickness going around no one knows how to fix

And I bet for the 1890's this was real scary.

On the other end, it's a lot of back and forth, and the pacing is a bit all over the place

I promise I’m still reading this

(I feel like if I read this when it came out it would’ve rocked me to my core but sadly the Dracula lore has permeated society so much nothing is shocking me)

I really hope this rocked the world of 19th-century readers!

Also wowowow Nosferatu really is just plagiarized Dracula.

Lastly, alllll of this could've been avoided if Harker listened to literally everyone around him to not go to the castle but w/e we gotta get the plot going somehow
