Philipp Dettmer has an amazing gift of speaking simply while not talking down to the reader. For example, he shares that from the perspective of the cell, the continent of the flesh is a mountain 10 times the height of Mount Everest. How fun is that! Depending on how much basic knowledge the reader has, it can be anywhere from a quicker read to feeling like a textbook. Thankfully, I'm in the first category.
